At HomeDrop, we are committed to delivering your custom-made portable container home safely and efficiently. Please review our shipping policy below, which outlines the procedures, requirements, and responsibilities for the delivery of your new home.
1. Delivery Scheduling and Storage
• Notification: Once your home is ready for delivery, our team will contact you via email and phone to schedule a convenient delivery time.
• Free Storage Period: We offer up to 30 days of free storage for your home at our facility after it is ready for delivery. If you are not prepared to accept delivery within this 30-day period, a storage fee of $30 per day will apply beyond the free storage period.
• Loss of Delivery Option After 120 Days: If your container remains in storage for more than 120 days, you forfeit the option to have the container delivered and any amounts previously paid toward this order. In such cases, this purchase will be considered void, and you will be required to submit a new order.
2. Delivery Site Requirements
• Preparation: The delivery location must meet all legal and logistical requirements for the truck to arrive and deliver the container home. This includes ensuring that access roads are clear and that there is no obstruction or limitation preventing delivery.
• Customer Responsibility: If there are any limitations, restricted access, or if the delivery cannot be completed due to specific site requirements not met by HomeDrop, the customer will be responsible for any additional costs incurred and must make necessary arrangements to accept the delivery.
3. Equipment for Unloading
• Required Equipment: For the safe unloading of your container home, a crane or forklift must be available at the delivery location.
• Equipment Purchase Option: You can opt to purchase the necessary crane or forklift service as part of our shipping package.
• Customer-Provided Equipment: If you choose not to include the equipment service through HomeDrop, you must ensure that the correct equipment is available on-site at the scheduled delivery time. Failure to provide the required equipment may result in delays or additional charges.
4. Foundation Preparation
• Foundation Guidelines: On our website, we provide a comprehensive guide on the recommended foundations for your container home.
• Readiness: It is the customer’s responsibility to prepare the foundation and ensure that all necessary groundwork is complete prior to delivery. This preparation facilitates a smooth and timely installation of your new home.
5. Bill of Lading (BOL) and Delivery Confirmation
• At Delivery: Upon delivery, you will be required to review and sign the Bill of Lading (BOL). This document serves as proof of delivery and details the condition of the container home at the time of arrival.
• Record Keeping: Keep a copy of the signed BOL for your records, as it documents any occurrences during the shipping process and confirms that the delivery has been successfully completed.
6. Additional Considerations
• Insurance and Liability: While HomeDrop takes utmost care in packaging and transporting your container home, we recommend reviewing our insurance options and terms regarding liability for damage during transit. Additional coverage may be available if desired.
• Customer-Provided Unloading Equipment: If you choose to use your own equipment or a third-party service to unload the container, the unloading process—and any associated risk or liability—shall be covered solely by your own insurance or your service provider’s insurance. HomeDrop does not accept liability for damages or incidents that occur during customer-managed unloading operations.
• Rescheduling or Delays: If you need to reschedule your delivery, please notify our team as soon as possible. We will make every effort to accommodate changes, but please be aware that changes may affect storage fees or scheduling availability.
